NOTIFICATION
ON THE LUNAR NEW YEAR HOLIDAY, NATIONAL DAY HOLIDAY, APRIL 30TH VICTORY DAY, AND MAY 1ST INTERNATIONAL LABOR DAY HOLIDAY IN 2025 FOR OFFICIALS, CIVIL SERVANTS, EMPLOYEES, AND WORKERS

Following the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Official Letter No. 8726/VPCP-KGVX dated November 26, 2024, regarding the Lunar New Year holiday and other holidays in 2025, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs notifies government agencies, public organizations, political organizations, businesses, and employers to follow the holiday schedule for the Lunar New Year, National Day, April 30 Victory Day, and May 1st International Labor Day in 2025 as follows:

  1. Lunar New Year: Officials, civil servants, employees, and workers of government agencies, public institutions, and political organizations will have the Lunar New Year holiday from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (26th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Dragon) to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (5th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Snake), including 5 days of Lunar New Year and 4 days of weekly holidays.

  2. National Day: Officials, civil servants, and employees will have the National Day holiday from Saturday, August 30, 2025 to Tuesday, September 2, 2025, including 2 days of National Day holiday and 2 days of weekly holidays.

  3. Victory Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1): Officials and civil servants will exchange working days from Friday, May 2, 2025 to Saturday, April 26, 2025. As a result, they will have 5 continuous days off from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to Sunday, May 4, 2025 (with makeup work on Saturday, April 26, 2025).

  4. Agencies and organizations should arrange on-duty staff during holidays and ensure continuous operations to serve the public. Ensure that officials are available to handle unexpected tasks during the holidays.

  5. Agencies and organizations should develop concrete plans to encourage businesses and individuals to continue productive activities and contribute to economic growth, stabilize supply and demand, and prevent waste.

  6. Agencies and organizations not following the fixed Saturday-Sunday holiday schedule should adjust their holiday plans according to their specific circumstances.

  7. For employees not covered by this notification, employers can decide on the holiday schedule for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day, and International Labor Day holidays based on the following options:

    • Lunar New Year: Choose either 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 3 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 3 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
    • National Day: Choose Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and one of the following: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
  8. Other holidays will follow the Labor Code's regulations.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs respectfully informs relevant parties for awareness and proper execution.

- The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers;

- The Office of the Central Committee and the Party's Committees;

- The Office of the General Secretary;

- The Office of the President;

- The Office of the Government;

- The Office of the National Assembly;

- The Ethnic Council and Committees of the National Assembly;

- The Supreme People's Procuracy;

- The Supreme People's Court;

- Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, and agencies under the Government;

- The People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities;
